About Us:
The Core 5 Paintball team is a Woodsball team with its roots deeply grown into the Scenario and Big Game community. Since our early formation, we have been concerned with cohesive, tactical gameplay that focuses around a small-unit dynamic and mission-accomplishment. Nothing demonstrates this more than the Core 5's Scanario Big Games, hosted at Apocalypse Paintball.
Formation:
The chaos and destruction that has defined our wake on the battlefield has been a staple of the Core 5 since 2004, when we first raised the Yellow and Black colors that would later become a symbol of terror for those unfortunate enough to find themselves on the wrong side of our engagements.
Before the unification, the Core 5 was a loose affiliation of paintballers with varying backgrounds and types of experiences. All of the members met on the field at Sunday Games and backwood firefights; jockeying for dominance and sharing begrudged respect in one-anothers's skills and abilities. Over time bonds were formed, and friendship took the place of hostility. Through many private games and local battles, the friction slowly gave way, and the Core 5 came together as a group.
Unlike many groups, where member's positions are sought out and assigned, the Core 5 came together somewhat naturally; each man taking the position within the team that he is good at, and a well-oiled machine formed around the capabilities of its members. The fact that we came together in Woodsball effected the basis for our mission statement: objective accomplishment through unit cohesion, tactics, and violence of action. The Core 5 has molded itself out of the old principles of Woodsball. We get excited when it gets rainy or snowy, muddy or sandy, or that, "too hot to play" weather, because that's when the unmotivated go tire and slacken, and that is when you separate the rockstars from the groupies.
We are the Core 5.
